William J. Dominik was awarded his PhD in Classics from Monash University in 1989. Presently he is not only Integrated Researcher and Research Fellow of Classical Studies at the University of Lisbon but also Professor Emeritus of Classics at the University of Otago (and recently Invited Full Professor at the University of Lisbon). Dominik has lectured widely in Classics and the Humanities, especially at the University of Otago and the University of Natal, where he has served as Professor and Chair of Classics; he has also held visiting professorships and/or other positions not only at the University of Lisbon but also at the Federal University of Bahia, University of Oxford, University of Edinburgh, University of Cambridge, University of Leeds, Texas Tech University, and Monash University. Dominik is the author or editor of several hundred publications on Roman literature and rhetoric, the classical tradition and reception, lexicography, and other topics.

Interests: Roman literature and rhetoric; Classical tradition and reception; Latin lexicography.
