Inês Hortas Marques has a degree in Journalism and Communication with a Minor in Portuguese from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra, with a particular interest in media discourse analysis. She completed her Master's degree in Textual Criticism at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon in September 2023, defending a final dissertation in the area of the history of textual criticism, titled "Diversidade e unidade textual na tradição editorial portuguesa" and supervised by Professor João Quaresma Dionísio. As a researcher, she received a scholarship for the project "Port-Asia - Asia writing in Portuguese: mapping literary and intellectual archives in Lisbon and Macau" (CEComp-UL) and for the project "Portuguese colonial literature: Beyond the memory of Empire" (CEComp-UL). Aditionally, she collaborated on the project "iForal - Forais medievais portugueses: uma perspectiva histórica e linguística na era digital" (CH-UL). She currently holds and PhD scholarship (FCT) in the field of Portuguese medieval literature. Finally, Inês Marquess collaborates with the critical and genetic edition of the complete works of Camilo Castelo Branco (Imprensa Nacional), and is co-editing the "Livro de Consolação" (1872) with Professor Ivo Castro.
