PHD 2000, Lisbon University. Musical training in Conservatório Nacional and in Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, organ. He has been teaching different levels of Latin Language and Latin Literature, Mediaeval Culture , Music and Literature. Publishes on classical epic, ancient and mediaeval musicology, music and literature. He has published translations of latin classics (Claudian, Vergil, Lucretius, Lucan and Boethius), and received two prestigious awards of literary translation.
Interests: Classical latin epic; Ancient and medieval musicology; Music and Literature inter-relations.
