My recognised research experience and plans follow three main axes: philological and literary study of Greek and Roman drama and epic; stage receptions of Graeco-Roman tragedy; and identities in Classical receptions. I have disseminated my research widely in peer-reviewed, collective and monographic publications, invited seminars and talks and national and international conferences, as well as roundtables, consultancy, lectures, podcasts, documentaries and events. I have worked on the appropriation of Greece and Rome for political, national, ontological and gender-sexual discourses, the staging of ancient tragedy as artistic and performative experimentation, and philology of ancient tragedy. My interdisciplinary research has been recognised with a Best Thesis Prize, a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship and a Portuguese FCT Research Fellowship.

Interests: Classical Reception, Graeco-Roman tragedy, identity, LGBT studies, nationalism, Roman antiquity
