For the past 3 decades, cognitive science has been used sporadically by and with the humanities and the social sciences. Nevertheless, we have yet to reach a continuous collaborative status between them, as the results of such collaboration are auspicious. Partial studies have shown how interdisciplinary cognitive science approaches can benefit further humanities and social sciences development. This Master Class aims to bring together intrepid and curious scholars, from junior to senior, to learn about cognitive science and the potential of applying a neurocognitive approach in their research. Is it useful? Insightful? Can we learn more from our object of study if we remember how the brain and emotions influence our objects of study? Professors Geertz and Høgenhaven will provide a complete introduction to the topic using End Time Narratives as a case study to exemplify the potential of combining different approaches.
Participants will receive a complete session schedule and access to a folder of required literature. Meanwhile, you can check our schedule here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1l1KVnzeufZp8q70vNzq6j5effMP-WxM9Obi8rmMcwYQ/edit?usp=share_link
