Exhibition «Il nostro Stazio dottissimo. Achilles Statius Lusitanus Umanista» (Rome, Biblioteca Vallicelliana & Biblioteca della Pontificia Universita’ Lateranense)
As part of the celebrations for the fifth Centenary of the birth of Aquiles Estaço, the Centre for Classical Studies of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Lisbon (CEC-FLUL) and the Vallicelliana Library in Rome are promoting an exhibition entitled «Il nostro Stazio dottissimo» – Achilles Statius Lusitanus, Umanista. This exhibition, which will showcase the manuscripts and printed books of the Portuguese humanist, aims to reveal a leading figure in the cultural panorama of the papal city in the second half of the 16th century. The exhibition will open on the 23rd of October at the Vallicelliana Library in Rome, remaining in situ until the 23rd of January 2025.
