As part of the celebrations of the 500th anniversary of the birth of Aquiles Estaço, the Centre for Classical Studies of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon (CEC-FLUL) and the Vallicelliana Library of Rome, in collaboration with the National Library of Portugal (BNP) and the Public Library of Évora (BPE), are promoting the exhibition entitled “Aquiles Estaço: a Portuguese humanist in 16th-century Europe”, which will be inaugurated on 14 November at the Public Library of Évora, where it will remain until 14 December 2024.
The presentation of this exhibition, which aims to promote the main manuscripts and printed books of Aquiles Estaço, will take place on 13 November at the National Library of Portugal and will be attended by several experts in Portuguese and Italian humanism.
