Ana Maria Tarrío is an Full Professor with Aggregation at the Department of Classical Studies at the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon, and responsible for the chair of Galician Studies at the same institution. Her main research interests concern 15th and 16th Portuguese Humanism and Literary culture. She is the author of several scientific articles, monographs and editions, namely "Paisagem e erudição no humanismo português", published by the FCG - Foundation Calouste Gulbenkian (2009); and “Leitores dos Clássicos. Para uma geografia do primeiro humanismo português, secs. XV-XVI”, published by the Portuguese National Library (BNP) (2015). Among other studies, Ana Maria Tarrío focuses on Latin humanism and the classical tradition in 16th-century Portuguese culture, addressing the literary work of several Portuguese humanists, such as Sá de Meneses, Rodrigues de Lucena, Duarte de Resende, Martim de Figueiredo, João de Barros, Damião de Góis, and Fernando Oliveira. She is also the Portuguese representative of the European network “Europa Humanistica”, coordinated by the CNRS - Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (Paris), and the Principal Investigator of the project HPRT 5 (Humanistica). Among other projects, she is a researcher of the Luso-Spanish project "Escritura expuesta y poder en España y Portugal (siglos XVI-XVII)", and of the “Online epigraphic catalog" (HAR2015-63637-P).
