André Baptista holds a B.A. and an M.A. in Classical Studies (University of Lisbon 2016, 2019), after completing his dissertation, entitled "Os Cometas de 1618 e a Nox Attica de Luís de Avelar", advised by Professor Bernardo Mota and which was awarded the highest mark. He participated actively in the Erasmus exchange program in the Universities of Bari "Aldo Moro" and Pisa. He was also a student at the Seminario Papirologico Fiorentino, promoted by the Istituto Papirologico Girolamo Vitelli. He taught Portuguese in public schools in Lisbon. Currently, he is a doctoral student in Classical Studies and researcher at the Centre for Classical Studies, with a thesis on the mannerist and baroque aspects of Graeco-Roman, Portuguese and Italian poetry, under the supervision of Professor Isabel Almeida, Professor Cristina Pimentel, and Professor Claudio Schiano from the University of Bari.

Interests: Mannerism; Baroque; Hellenistic poetry; Ancient natural philosophy.
