Ariel Estevam Ferreira (MA in History, Power, and Languages, Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto (UFOP), 2023) is currently beginning a PhD in History, specializing in Modern History at the Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa (FLUL). For her master's degree, she wrote a dissertation titled "Fronteira e Movimentação na Obra de Usama Ibn Munqidh (século XII)," in which she focused on exploring the Islamic world and mobility in the medieval period, studying the work of Usama Ibn Munqidh (1095-1188), an important Muslim chronicler who portrayed an Islamic perspective of the early Crusades. During the years 2020-21, she conducted a scientific initiation project researching abolitionist laws in Brazil, titled "Reformulando a tradição prudencial na modernidade pós-colonial: experiência histórica, conceitos e metáforas no debate político brasileiro em torno da Lei do Ventre Livre (1866-1871)" She completed her undergraduate degree in History at UFOP in January 2022. For her PhD, she intends to investigate the parallels between God/Christ and Satan/Antichrist.
