PhD in Portuguese Literature (University of Lisbon), with a thesis on Portuguese Books of Chivalry, from the Renaissance to Mannerism (1999); Associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts of this University. Isabel Almeida has been part of the team responsible for editing Os Lusíadas Comentados por D. Marcos de S. Lourenço (CIEC, 2014). Studies on Gil Vicente, Jorge Ferreira de Vasconcelos, Fernão Mendes Pinto, Fr. António Vieira or Camões have been published in magazines and collective volumes, such as Dicionário de Luís de Camões(2011), directed by Vítor Aguiar e Silva. She prepares nowadays the edition of the comments that Manuel Pires de Almeida wrote about Os Lusíadas.
