I am Assistant Professor at the School of Arts and Humanities, University of Madeira, and researcher in the Centre of Classical Studies of the School of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisbon. My work focuses mainly on ancient medical texts about women’s diseases and female nature and their reception in Early-modern medicine. At present, I am Principal Investigator of the "Project Gynecia - Rodrigo de Castro Lusitano and the ancient medical tradition on gynaecology and embryology" (see here: https://projectgynecia.uma.pt/en/).
