This team studies Late Antique/early medieval Iberian texts and their circulation, with special consideration of Visigothic literature and early medieval texts from Portuguese territory. We are currently dealing with four connected areas: poetry, hagiography, historiography, and documentation. Our group is in the process of developing CODOLPOR, a research project on Portuguese Latin documents prior to AD 1200. We also hold in Lisbon the private library (with working drafts) of the late M. C. Díaz y Díaz (1924-2007), the most eminent Spanish scholar of Visigothic literature.
