Ana Pereira holds a degree in History (1993), by the School of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisbon. Postgraduate qualification in Documentary Sciences - Library and Information (1997) at the Autonomous University of Lisbon and in Information and Documentation Sciences - Archival Studies (2010) at the School of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisbon. She attended the Master’s programme in Educational Sciences - Education and Reading (2003), at the School of Psychology and Education Sciences, University of Lisbon. Also holds a Master’s degree in Information and Documentation Sciences (2023), in the School of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisbon. She is currently a PhD student in Information Science and also a resercher at Centre for Classical Studies at the same institution. She is a Head Librarian of the Sintra Municipal Library Network and has been working in the Municipality of Sintra since 1995, having held senior roles and extensive professional experience in both library and archival services. Is a trainer in librarianship and reading promotion, and a certified auditor (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, NP 4552:2016). She serves on the Steering Committee of the Camilo Castelo Branco Chair (University of Lisbon) and participates in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area Public Libraries Network working group. She coordinated the application and classification process of the “Camiliana de Sintra” collection as a Cultural Property of Public Interest (2010 a 2020). In 2024, she was awarded the Raul Proença Prize.
