André Melícias holds a degree in History from the Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa and a Master's Degree in History from the Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa. He also holds a Master’s degree in Documentation and Information Sciences, from the Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa. He is currently attending the Inter-University Doctoral Program in History (PIUD-Hist), promoted by Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa, ISCTE, Instituto de Ciências Sociais, Universidade Católica Portuguesa and Universidade de Évora. Since 2011 he collaborates as a Guest Assistant with the Politécnico de Leiria, teaching courses in the areas of Contemporary History and Archives and Records Management. He is a member of the Fatima Shrine’s Research Department, developing his activity in the areas of Archives and Library. He is a member of the Centro de Estudos Clássicos da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa, in which he is part of the Instruments and Information Sciences group.
