Fernanda Ferreira holds a Master’s degree in Archives, Libraries and Information Science from the University of Évora (2009). Postgraduate qualification in Documentary Sciences (2000) and a degree in History (1997) from the Autonomous University of Lisbon. She is currently a PhD student in Information Science in the School of Arts and Humanities at the University of Lisbon and a researcher at Centre for Classical Studies at the same institution. She has been part of the team at the Seixal Municipal Ecomuseum (EMS) since 1999, participating in projects related to the study and inventory of documentary collections and providing support for national and international initiatives and projects involving the preservation, digitisation and dissemination of content. She is responsible for the Documentation and Information Centre and for the EMS Documentation and Information System. She is a member of the Working Group on Information Systems in Museums (GT-SIM) of the Portuguese Association of Librarians, Archivists, Information and Documentation Professionals (BAD). She serves on the governing bodies of BAD for the 2024–2026 term. She is a member of ICOM (International Council of Museums) and its International Committee for Documentation (ICOM DOCUMENTATION).
