Maria Beatriz Merêncio holds a Master’s in Documentation and Information Sciences (University of Lisbon) with a dissertation on the Torre do Tombo Archive between the 15th and 17th centuries, and a Bachelor’s in History (NOVA University Lisbon). From 2019 to 2022, she collaborated with the project “VINCULUM – Entailing Perpetuity: Family, Power, Identity. The Social Agency of a Corporate Body (Southern Europe, 14th–17th Centuries)” (ERC Grant No. 819734). She later joined the Lisbon Academy of Sciences as a Research Fellow in its Historical Archive and currently works as an archivist at EPAL – Empresa Portuguesa das Águas Livres, S.A. Since 2019, she has been developing a professional path that bridges academic research and organisational practice, fostering closer connections between History and the Information and Documentation Sciences.
